As the birthplace of the royal line that ascended to the throne of France, the Bourbon-l'Archambault fortress dates back to the 13th century and was considered to be impenetrable until the 15th century. Tour of the interior with a guide in period costume from the 13th century: 8 rooms that replicate the living areas of the time, from the alchemist's dispensary to the lords' quarters. The fortress is used as the backdrop for a sound and light show on certain nights in the summer. Historic Monument and listed site.
